Longmont Branding Photography Session | Colorado Brand Photographer
This Longmont branding photography session took place in December 2022 and was such a fun day incorporating both outdoor and indoor locations! Longmont is a picturesque city, on the front range around an hours drive north of Denver.
Claire approached me since she was going through a complete re-brand for business. Claire owns CC Creative, a marketing and design business that specializes in Pinterest Marketing, Blogging and Showit Website design, serving creatives and wedding professionals.
She had recently hired a copywriter and a branding designer and was in the process of re-designing her website so she was looking for some updated branding photos to match her brand new branding.
Gathering Branding Photoshoot Inspiration
When it comes to branding photos I typically send clients a questionnaire to gather all the information and inspiration need to be able to execute a successful branding photoshoot.
I want to know all about your business, your hopes for the future, locations that align with your business, what you want people to think when they come across your business.
It is also really helpful to know your brand color palette, any props that you want to include that will help tell your brand story, any other brands that inspire you and any other inspiration you have that would be relevant for your shoot.
If you don’t already have a vision board I will work with you to help you come up with a clear vision for your brand photoshoot. Claire had a very clear vision for her brand and already had a vision board prepared so it was easy to come up with a plan for her shoot.
Branding Photoshoot Locations
Claire spends a lot of time at a lake (McIntosh Lake) close to her house, so we opted to start here as she wanted some outside shots to reflect more of what she enjoys in her personal life. The December day was crisp and clear. We shot in the early morning for the best lighting and captured some natural, cadid and posed outdoor photos, including some short videos too.
We then choose to have the rest of the Longmont branding photoshoot in Claire’s home. We were fortunate that her home looked like it was straight from a magazine and worked well with what she had in mind for her shoot.
We began in her office, adding some lighting since there was little natural light, then we moved to a couple of other locations in her home, adding in props such as her laptop, phones, seating, throws etc.
Branding Photoshoot Outfit Ideas
Claire’s branding colors were neutral browns, beiges, soft peaches and a very light sage green and she opted for comfortable, relaxed clothing to match this palette.
The first outfit for the lake shots was a brown pokka dot skirt, teamed with a cream sweater and burgundy hat. Once back at the house, Claire changed into jeans with a peach colored sweater and later a tan colored dress paired with a white hat.
For branding photos it is generally best to stick with block colors and stick with a simple color palette, not mixing too many colors together. I am always more than happy to help my clients coordinate outfit ideas.
Don’t forget I also offer hair & makeup to help you look the best you can be for your Branding photos. Check out my instagram here for more inspiration.
Here’s what Claire had to say about the day!
“I couldn’t love my photos more! It’s so hard to pick my favorites! Thank you so much - you nailed my vision and I can’t wait to use these in my business and actually have photos I am proud of!”
